Camping and Canoeing Trip 2023

Come join us for a two night or (if you just want to do one night that will be ok) camping and
float rip on the Niangua river near Bennett Springs, MO. We will be leaving on Sunday afternoon
July 13 to arrive at the campground Sunday evening. The campground Corkery Camp ground
and is located near Hwy 64 just Northwest of Bennett Springs. The website for the camp ground
is Maggardcanoe.com. Directions and information on the campground can be found on the
website.

The campground rents canoes, kayaks, and rafts. Camping fees are waived when you rent their
equipment. The campground is pretty rustic but has bathroom facilities I have reserved one
campground that has an electrical hookup. You will need to bring quarters for the campground
showers.

Canoes rent for $42 per day, Kayaks are $30, 4 man rafts are $100 and 6 man rafts are $150.

We plan on eating our evening meal on the road and then camp overnight, you can float on the
river Monday and Tuesday and can leave early enough on Tuesday to be back in Topeka by late
evening. If camping on the river is not on your bucket list there are motels in the vicinity. The
Bennett Springs Inn and Sand Springs Resort are located a convenient distance away. Maggards
will require that you drive to the campground to make arrangements for the canoe (kayak, raft)
and to get on the bus for the short ride to the access point on the river.

Please let Stan Stegelman as soon as possible so that we can coordinate carpooling, food for meals
etc. We will need to let the campground know the number of campsites, estimated number of
canoes, kayaks and rafts that we will need. They will take credit cards but have an added fee.
They will take checks but think they like cash even better.

Please call me at Stan 785-478-3765 for additional information and to let me know if you plan on
attending, I would like to give the campground our numbers by June 14.
