Yosemite National Park officials have announced that 9,943′ Tioga Pass on Highway 120 will close temporarily today at 4pm PT due to incoming snow.

NOAA has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for California that is calling for 1-4″ of snow today and tomorrow.

“Tioga Road (continuation of Highway 120 through the park) will temporarily close on Saturday, September 28, at 4 pm. The closure will be from South Fork Tuolumne River (west of White Wolf) to Tioga Pass.
Glacier Point Road will temporarily close on Friday, September 27, at 8 pm.
These closures are due to a forecast of snow. Both roads will open on Monday, conditions permitting. Call 209/372-0200 (then 1, 1) for updates.”  – Yosemite National Park, CA on 9/27/19

NOAA has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for California that is calling for 1-4″ of snow to fall in California this weekend.

We understand that there is some conflicting info in this article as NOAA is in different places saying as many as 12″ some of their publications and as few as 4″ in others.

We like the snow forecast map below best as it appears to be the middle of the road with about 4-6″ forecast for Donner Pass.

Mammoth isn’t involved in this Winter Weather Advisory, yet they are the only ones who have seen snow thus far (image below).
